Apple Puree

This is one of Zane's favorite purees he loves apples! And other than pealing the apples (which I loath) it's super easy!

4-6 apples (I like fuji)
1/4 cup water
1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Peel apples and cut into slices. Now to cook the apples you can either just stick them in a steamer for 15-20 minutes or if you don't have a steamer you can place the sliced apples in a large skillet with enough water to almost cover the apples and let cook until tender.  Once done cooking place apples in a food processor and pulse you will need to add back in water to thin out to a apple sauce type consistency depending on your baby's age you may need it thinner. If you cooked them in a skillet you can add the water from the skillet back in. Also you can add cinnamon or nutmeg for a little extra kick :) once pureed let cool to room temp then you can freeze. Frozen cubes can be thawed and eaten by themselves or mixed with cereal, bananas, chicken or just about anything. Hope your little one enjoys this as much as Zane does!
